Barbie - The perfect woman ?

There seems to be a unified mentality of ideal beauty. That is skinny, white, long blond hair, and blue eyes is what is beautiful. I am not saying that these characteristics are not beautiful, because they are. However more varieties of beauty can been seen throughout the world that do not fit this mould. Which makes it slightly awkward that all this these distinct kids play with the same generic doll, that may not have the same representation of who they are. or maybe even where they came from. When I analyze the true and original Barbie, I come across a sense of superficiality. The painted on eyes, and lips and the plastic smile are examples of that. Do not get me started on Barbie's clothes. Do young girls actually dress like that? Or the better question should be should they able to? The answer is absolutely not, when I think about it more deeply if Barbie had to be on the market, then she should be sold to teens through 20's. If only we played with dolls. Anyways Despite that they are complete opposite of what women want to be categorized as, Barbie still sells. I have no idea why honestly maybe because kids don't analyze these kinds of things. I remember when I played with my Barbie I would blow-dry her hair with the fan, and give her haircuts. I would make my Ballerina Barbie do endless pirouettes on pointe. It never crossed my mind that the Barbie that I was dancing with was not at all like me, and that I could never be like her.
